Role and Responsibilities1. Cost Estimation: · Develop comprehensive cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs. · Reviewing supplier costs in order to determine how much each individual element costs, and negotiating with supplies in order to bargain the best prices. · Use historical data, market analysis, and project specifications to determine accurate estimates. · Determine the amount of labour required to complete each project.
2. Proposal and Bid Preparation: · Review and analyze project proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to create accurate and competitive bids. · Determining the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions. · Providing viable solutions to increase project probability. · Completing and submitting competitive project bids in accordance with established guidelines. · Prepare and submit detailed bids to tenders and proposals to clients, ensuring all the necessary information is included.
3. Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: · Obtain and evaluate quotes from supplies and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. · Establish, maintain, and build effective, long-lasting relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, engineers, and contractors in the industry. 4. Project Planning & Scheduling: · Identify necessary resources, timeline and milestones to ensure project completion within budget and on schedule.
5. Communication · Keep in communication with relevant stakeholders. Other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities · Strong communication skills and relationship building skills. · Effective leadership skills to help the team overcome challenges and achieve success. · Strong organization skills. · Technical skills to understand the needs of a project and how to complete it. · Excellent organizational and time management skills · Detail-orientated · The ability to read blueprints · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills · Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on quality. · Knowledge of electrical code requirements. Working conditionsFrequent sitting for long periods of time in an office setting Flexible work schedule is required Working indoors Travel within Saskatchewan/Canada is required. Notice to travel may be less than a week’s notice The HR department must obtain a copy of your valid license on file and be provided a satisfactory driver’s abstract annually.
